Buildots Adds Laser Scanning to Deliver Survey

Grade Precision on Complex Construction Projects

Buildots has expanded its construction intelligence platform with the introduction of laser scanning capabilities through a partnership with NavVis, a leading provider of reality capture and spatial data solutions. Announced on August 11, 2026, the integration brings survey-grade accuracy to the Buildots platform, supporting projects where precision is critical, including semiconductor fabrication plants, data centers, and healthcare facilities.

Buildots has traditionally provided project teams with a verified visual record of construction progress. The addition of laser scans enhances that capability by enabling highly accurate digital measurements, allowing teams to validate dimensions, clearances, and installation quality in areas where even small deviations can have significant consequences.

The solution supports data capture using NavVis hardware as well as any laser scanner that generates the industry-standard E57 file format. Scan data can be accessed directly within Buildots through the integrated NavVis IVION viewer, eliminating the need to move between separate applications to compare scans, BIM models, and project progress information.

According to Buildots CEO and co-founder Roy Danon, integrating survey-grade laser scan data strengthens the quality of information available within the platform and enhances the effectiveness of its AI-driven analysis. By combining scan data with progress and workforce insights, construction teams can identify discrepancies between design models and field conditions earlier, respond more quickly, and reduce the risk of project delays.

NavVis CEO and co-founder Dr. Felix Reinshagen said the partnership brings together NavVis' reality capture technology and Buildots' construction management capabilities. NavVis solutions are already used globally to document large-scale industrial, manufacturing, and construction environments where both speed and accuracy are essential. Through the integration, project teams can access and collaborate around highly detailed site data within a unified workflow.

The new capability is available immediately to Buildots customers and is already being used on select major projects, including Intel's global semiconductor fab construction program.

Buildots positions itself as a construction intelligence platform that transforms site data into actionable insights. The company serves projects ranging from schools and multifamily developments to some of the world's largest and most technically demanding facilities. Its customer base includes major contractors and owners such as Turner Construction, JE Dunn, Intel, HOCHTIEF, and Bouygues.
