Kingspan to Acquire Co Meath Data Centre Specialist in Deal Worth Up to €900m
Building materials giant Kingspan has agreed to acquire County Meath-based data centre solutions company BMC Manufacturing in a transaction valued at up to €900 million.
BMC Manufacturing specialises in the design, production and installation of critical power systems for data centres and employs more than 350 people across its Dublin and Meath operations. The company is expected to generate revenues of approximately €280 million this year, with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) forecast at €90 million. Kingspan expects those earnings to double by 2027.
According to Kingspan, BMC’s operations will complement those of its Advnsys subsidiary, which focuses on the design and construction of data centre facilities.
Under the terms of the agreement, Kingspan will pay an initial €850 million for the business, funded through €600 million in cash and €250 million in newly issued shares. An additional €50 million may be paid if agreed profit targets are achieved.
Kingspan chief executive Gene Murtagh said the acquisition aligns with the group’s strategy of expanding its data centre offering into integrated power, cooling and containment solutions.
He said BMC Manufacturing’s technology, combined with Advnsys’ established relationships with major hyperscale data centre operators, would strengthen the company’s ability to meet growing global demand for data centre infrastructure.
BMC founder and chairman Brendan Meehan described the deal as a significant milestone for the company, saying it would provide a strong platform for the next phase of international expansion while building on the strengths of its team and business.
