Micron Technology has announced the creation of Micron Research Labs, a U.S.-based research institution dedicated to advancing long-term innovation in memory, computing, and semiconductor technologies. Headquartered in Boise, Idaho, the initiative is supported by a planned $10 billion investment over the next decade and is designed to bring together industry leaders, universities, government organizations, startups, and research partners to explore technologies that extend far beyond current development roadmaps.

As the first dedicated memory research center of its kind in the United States, Micron Research Labs will focus on foundational research in memory technologies, next-generation computing architectures, advanced packaging, and future semiconductor manufacturing processes. The effort aims to help shape the technologies that will power the artificial intelligence era and beyond.

Building a Global Research Ecosystem

At the heart of the initiative will be a flagship campus in Boise, supported by university partnerships, satellite research labs worldwide, and collaborations across the semiconductor ecosystem.
