What makes Ireland extraordinary

IDA Ireland - Supporting investors from the first visit

Ireland offers international businesses far more than a location to establish operations. From the moment a company begins exploring expansion opportunities, Ireland positions itself as a long-term partner in that journey.

IDA Ireland supports investors at every stage of the process. Assistance begins during the earliest phase of researching potential locations and continues through the investment decision, operational setup, and talent acquisition. As businesses grow, this support evolves to include expansion planning, innovation initiatives, and opportunities for research and development collaboration.

This relationship is designed to be long-lasting. Our engagement does not end once an investment decision is made or when a ribbon is cut at a new facility. Instead, we focus on building enduring partnerships with clients—sharing their ambitions and championing their long-term success. Importantly, all of these services are provided at no cost to investors.

The strength of this partnership model is reflected in the presence of more than 1,800 multinational companies operating in Ireland today. Over half have maintained a presence in the country for more than a decade, one-third for over 20 years, and one-fifth for more than 30 years.

Ireland’s strong performance in attracting foreign direct investment continues. In 2025, a record 323 investment projects were secured, representing a 38% increase on 2024. Nearly a quarter of these projects—24%—came from 78 companies establishing operations in Ireland for the first time.

Like any successful relationship, these partnerships deepen over time. Viewed from another perspective, 76% of investment projects in 2025 came from companies that already operate in Ireland—demonstrating the confidence existing investors have in continuing to grow here.

These outcomes are made possible by a proven partnership approach.

Supporting investors from the first visit

For many companies, the investment journey begins with a visit to experience the location firsthand. Evaluating a potential site in person is a vital step in validating expansion plans.

IDA Ireland organises tailored site visits that showcase suitable regions and specific properties across the country. These visits are carefully designed to help investors understand the opportunities available.

As part of the process, we also arrange networking sessions with leaders from similar industries who have already established operations in Ireland. These conversations allow prospective investors to hear directly about how companies have successfully built and scaled their international teams. Many clients describe these sessions as invaluable opportunities to learn, ask questions, and identify practical solutions.

Ready-to-go property solutions

To support rapid setup, Ireland offers a range of ready-to-develop property options. Land and facilities are available across the country, allowing companies to establish operations quickly and efficiently.

Some businesses prefer to locate near industry peers or within clusters of specialised talent. In these cases, we work closely with clients to match their requirements—whether skills, infrastructure, or sector ecosystem—with the most suitable location.

Connecting investors to Ireland’s ecosystem

Companies establishing international operations in Ireland benefit from a comprehensive support network. Through a concierge-style service, IDA Ireland can introduce investors to relevant government bodies, regulators, and professional service providers in areas such as tax, payroll, and legal support.

Meetings can be arranged with key stakeholders from academia, industry, and government, either in person or virtually. We also provide guidance on employment permits, visas, and relocation matters, helping international teams settle in quickly.

In addition, we assist with public communications around major announcements, coordinating with government and media channels to ensure strong visibility for new investments.

Continuing support after setup

Support continues long after operations are established. Each client is assigned relationship managers based in Ireland and near the company’s global headquarters. Their role is to maintain close dialogue with clients, understand evolving needs, and help identify opportunities for growth.

These managers are supported by a global network of specialists in areas such as life sciences, technology, engineering, financial technology, and real estate.

Investing in skills and innovation

As companies expand, additional support is available to help strengthen and future-proof their operations. This can include initiatives focused on workforce training, upskilling, digital transformation, or fostering a culture of innovation.

In many cases, financial assistance may also be available to support these initiatives.

A partnership for long-term success

At every stage of the investment journey, the goal is the same: to help companies succeed in Ireland over the long term. The teams at IDA Ireland are committed to delivering world-class support that enables businesses to grow sustainably.

This approach reflects a simple belief: business relationships should go beyond transactions. By building genuine partnerships with investors, Ireland shares in their success—and helps ensure that their operations continue to thrive for decades to come.
